Hello my name is Heather and I am 24. I'm married with a step daughter, a son and a daughter. I have been a stay at home mom for quite some time. I recently have started college and my son had his first day of kindergarten. It is a stressful time financially as well. I have always had anxiety and bite my fingernails as a nervous habit. Recently it has gotten worse. I went to the doctor because I had a panic attack and they put me on Paxil. Well I had worse panic attacks than ever so I stopped taking that. I had panic attacks that came in waves last night. One right after another. It is seriously affecting my life and my ability to lead a fulfilling one. I came here for companionship and a place to talk to others who know what I am going through.

Hi HeatherLeigh,

Well I beleive most of us can relate to what you are going through. Have you considered trying CBT to get your anxiety problems under control?

Personally, I wouldn't take drugs as anything that alters your present body chemistry is porbably unhelpful.

Have you ditched coffee, strong tea, refined sugar, processed food? Try a really good wholefood diet which offers a slow-release of energy. After a cold-turkey of ditching a chemically diet I feel people are better set-up to deal with their anxiety whatever the cause.

I decided to come off medication as i felt it made me worse.
I have cut down alcohol which was vodka and redbull, as the next day i would feel very unconfident shaky and i wont leave the house. Too much coffee makes my anxiety come out worse, and i have now banned all drinks like redbull energy drinks. I have alcohol one night a week and monitor how much i have. I find that this has helped alot.
