Birth control woes...

Ok hi everyone, so I have a question for all the ladies out there. So I'm normally quite a stickler about taking my birth control every day but this month I started the pack a day late because of the pharmacy not having it in stock. I took two the next day as it says in the brochure. Well I slipped up and didnt use backup a few days later. I've called my mother, two nurses, and my gyn, all told me I was fine. Why am I having a hard time believing them?! Anyone else have this happen and turn out ok? Thanks!

Yes!! When I was on bc I was horrible at taking them, I found myself doubling up more than not, which you probably shouldn't even do.. But never ended up pregnant. Because it was so stressful, I eventually got the nuva ring, which is a ring that goes around your cervix and only releases the hormones in that part of your body. You leave it in for 3 weeks and take it out for one to have your period, then start all over again with a new one, its pretty simple and a lot less stressful than having to remember a pill everyday or running out and worrying of getting pregnant. Maybe something to consider.

If you've been on it for awhile, you're probably okay.

I once threw up my birth control a half hour after taking it and I didn't use a back up method after that. I called my doctor and she said I should be okay. I didn't have any problems. I was still so worried about pregnancy though even after reassurance from my doctor, so I totally can see where you're coming from. I'm sure you're fine! :)
