wow. Found this site. Hoping you all can help me identify what's going on.
I am married, father of 4 (ages 4-16), self-employed, work at home. Work lately has been really difficult. Lack of focus, drive, tired, stressed about the lack of productivity, excessive worrying and just can't seem to unwind at all. Lots of bouts of anger (no physical harm). Feeling the fight or flight kick in.
Would be interested in hearing what others have done to help i.d. the source.
thanks!

Have you tried talking to someone about it?
I think talking really helps you to examine what's going on in your thoughts, and although sometimes challenging it forces you to focus on various areas within your life.
One of the things I've found from getting CBT is that some of my thought processes that are doing me harm can actually be linked to past events or periods of my life, and due to them just becoming an everyday part of my thought processes I can't (or couldn't, should I say?) see that they were inappropriate. It isn't until I've sat n talking about the aspects of my life and my thoughts around them that I've been able to see what was wrong.
Hey, you're in the right place, try typing it instead of talking it ;)

When I attended self-help groups years back many people reported anxiety when they were 'at a crossroads' - changing job, being made redundant, birth of a child, changing school or just a feeling of not knowing what to do next in life and having the lack of a goal to go for.
If work has been hard for you of, this alone would be enough of a souce for stress/anxiety.
