Hi! I am new to this forum. I have dealt with anxiety since college. I took zoloft back then and it worked wonders. I have dealt with anxiety on and off since then. I switched to Lexapro 3 weeks ago due to Zoloft "pooping out". I started with 10mg first week then 15mg the 2nd week. I am starting 20 mg tomorrow. Definitely feel better and less panicky, but the absurd worries still enter my mind and make me uneasy. Just wondering when this is going to get better?? I am having chest discomfort and my doc told me it is anxiety related. Had EKG back in November and it was normal. I am so worried I am going to have a heart attack any second. So tired of worrying about my health all the time!

I take 40mg daily lexapro. It will take a while to kick in the a very therapeutic level. Maybe 30 days to reach a good level in your body. If you continue to keep taking it it will only get better, I've been taking it around 9 months and my anxietyt/depression is 85% or so gone. Just remember to take it every day.
Hi I too am on this, I take 20 mg daily but now have been put on Queitapine which I've just increased again to 100mg, I get the chest pains, palpitations and nausea, I worry constantly about being like this it's awful, I did think I was turning a slight corner but it's as bad as ever, been on the escitalopram for about 5 weeks and the Queitapine this new dose of 100mg 2 nights? I've been bad since Xmas was previously on citalopram till then and had a bad anxiety attack which resulted in all this and a change in meds first to mirtazapine now these ones I'm on! it's really affecting my life:(

Does anyone know if there any meds that don't have side effects and work without waiting 30 days.
The thought of the side effects again frighten me
