Hi There i am a newbie to this group. I havent managed to go through any of the posts yet. I have been dealing with a chronic illness for over a year now and been on different kinds of meds. The last month or so i have been experiencing burning sensations all over my body. Feet, arms, scalp, thighs, bum and now its on my face / eye lids, ankles etc. I keep trying to search for answers but doctor isnt sure what it is. I am seeing a neurologist in a few weeks time but just want to see if anyone else suffers with anything like this as i an very anxious a lot of the time because of what im coping with at the moment but never suffered with burning before now so im a little worried. Its very uncomfortable and some times i cant even walk or sit. Be great to hear anyones experiences and how you cope with it.

thank you

Well that's gotta suck. I have had pains and other sensations in all of those areas yet never a burning sensation. Interesting indeed.

It is great that you are looking for medical reasons to eliminate any defects in your biggest of brains

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if a few on here respond to you with the same symptoms

That damn anxiety is quite clever in the way he keeps people guessing his next symptom.

Not that I put too much credit in the hands of doctors but if they are stumped by your symptoms, you can most likely be assured that there is nothing major wrong with you.

yeah i dont have much faith in doctors its took me a year to get reffered to proper specialists because of my other condition. then it took a really nice specialist to listen to me for 20 mins and now been reffered for tests etc. Luckily i have a fantastic support group for it so if i ever get unsure of a symptom i know they will help me. usually its just the crazy illness. This burning is a whole different ball game i hate it. i can deal with the usual anxiety stuff but this has me so worked up because i think it will get worse or its something bad. the only time i dont feel in pain is when im in a bath or asleep. Soon as i wake up bam it starts.

Hope that the doctors either find a reason for your illness and can help you, or if it is not anything serious but depression/anxiety I hope that you can accept that and find help for it.

Doctors can give you access to lots of medications to help until you find right one for you, or they can help point you in direction to get help.

I have found meditation the best recommendation my psychiatrist ever made. Now go to Buddha and christian meditation - both different types of teaching and different ways of meditating but it really helps to give you head space and rest during the day and people at the groups usually really nice and often have been ill too so understand. If can't find a group just finding a quiet space and concentrating on your slow deep breathing for a few minutes a day can help you calm down and stop worrying.

Hello Mandi,
Like you I am a newbie too. I have been suffering with anxiety (drs havent comfirmed it yet but they suggested it) for only 2 months. I couldnt imagain what you have had to.go through over a year of not knowing. Must be so horrible. I have burning sensation but not in the places you do I get it in my chest just before I have an anxiety attack, its probably heartburn but it only lasts a few seconds. I also get like a blood rush throughout the top half of my body just before aswell which sometimes can be mistaken for burning sensation. What other symptoms do you get? . I have a list of mine on my laptop that I would like to share but I can only seem to post on my phone or through private message. Add me as a friend ill be happy to private message you
