Can antidepressants make your anxiety worse?

Yes, some can make it worse, some can do nothing, and some treat effectively.

How long you been on them? The body takes a while to adjust. if' you're nervous about taking meds this can make the initial side effects (if any) feel worse.

I have been on them for 2 months now. It seems to have made my anxiety just keep getting worse. My therapist said that it should be relaxing me but it hasn't. I don't feel any different besides more anxiety.

Should I wean myself off my medication. It's starting to make me feel sick when I take it and I told my doctor and she said to just keep taking it. I want to get off it.

I'd quit no doubt. I took Prozac, made me feel the same way. Doctors kept telling me to keep taking it, even though after 2 months I was worse than before taking them. I finally found a doc to listen, take me seriously, switch me over. The next med really helped me, and I begun a 4 year journey of improvement. The story had a happy ending! Don't waste time with meds that arent working :)
