I've been suffering from what feels like constant anxiety since December and sometimes I really feel like I'm improving and getting over it, but then everything seems to take a turn for the worst during that time of the month. It's incredibly frustrating and making me think my symptoms are not just anxiety and even though therapy actually seems to be helping, I'm so exhausted from all of this and at my wit's end and I'm seriously considering trying the SSRI route again. I've read that some women only take this during their periods to help with severe depression and anxiety. Has anyone here tried that? It seems to me like it wouldn't work because it's only for a short period of time and your body needs time to get used to it, but what do I know? I'm just really tired of living under constant stress and anxiety.

Are you mostly anxiety? If you wanted short term relief, for say a week or so, wouldn't benzo's be a far better option? :) Surely messing around with brain chemistry now and again, isn't really the first point from which you wanna be approaching relief. Taking a benzo during the bad days can do wonders for a persons motivation and energy levels.

A tiny pill and anxiety is gone for the day. What a relief to the body, and the mind too, just knowing its there even if you dont take it.

I'm mostly anxiety, but I do get depressed too when the anxiety is bad. I never leave the house without my Ativan, but I also haven't taken it in over a month and I'm kind of scared to again. :$ it's completely irrational, I know, but I'm so scared of becoming dependent on them and I think I was getting to that point before.
