So it's been a couple years since i have steadily stayed on a anti-depressant! It has been about three years since I last had paxil. The doctor put me back on paxil and its only 10mg but I feel like my body is not used to SSRIs anymore. Because just with 10mg I will feel jittery inside in the morning and all anti-depressants have made me feel this way in the mornings and thats why I have not stayed with it like I should. And I have noticed alot more headaches than usual. I'm suppose to go up to 20mg now and I have to say i'm scared of the side-effects. I have been where I sleep alot lately and then last night it was like I could not stay asleep for anything and sometimes my legs feel restless and this has not happened since I was on anti-depressants before. I'm gonna keep at it but I don't know if I should go up to the 20mg yet or not! Also have noticed very bad dry mouth and I know its from the medication. I just hate the jittery feeling I have in the mornings. Should I possibly switch to taking this in the morning instead of night?

Perhaps you should switch to another SSRI, Celexa,Zoloft ? I am not familiar with Lexapro but I hear good things about it. I believe initially many of the SSRI's make you a bit jittery ( not necessarily anxiety) These are common side effects that calm down relatively quickly. Have you tried others beside Paxil ? I have never been on that one in the past but have heard of dry mouth etc with that. I never had any dry mouth or any symptom except " fatigue". Also I gained a large amount of weight.

Actually I wish you would try 2,000 mg of Omega 3 Fish Oil it is extremely effective at controlling anxiety/ depression ( keep it in the frig and get odorless). I wouldn't be too concerned with going to the 20mg, the objective is to raise the serotonin levels and it may just elevate some of the side effects, but consider the Omega 3 and maybe a different SSRI. If you think the Paxil is keeping you up at night, definitely switch to morning. Also if you are nervous about increasing dose do a 20-10-20-10 dose.- That would put you at 15 mg , given the time it remains in your body ( every other day to increase) and see how that works. I was on these for quite some time and actually weaned myself off very slowly. Please try the fish oil as an adjunct ! Your cholesterol will love you ! Good Luck
