I have been on a good strike, but the afternoon I got a discomfort feeling in my neck below my jaw. I am freaking out a little, I have heart related fears, but have been seen and cleared by a cardiologist. Has anyone experienced thing or have tips to relief it?

How long does it usually last for you?

I have. In December I was CONVINCED i was having a heart attack because of it. I went to the ER and they did an EKG and found that my heart is actually pretty strong. I have bradycardia, but when you're young that's actually not a bad thing. If you have had yours examined and there are no problems then you are probably fine, hon

Mine comes and goes sometimes its last all day sometimes 30 mins. Try to focus on something else and get your mind off it. I know it's scary;(

I find that deep breathing really helps, so does taking a lot of advil. Anxiety can cause pain, sadly, and while pain from anxiety somehow doesn't hurt you (i.e. it's not as big a danger to you as it would be if it were a heart problem), you may find you need to take something to make it go away.

I definitely get this all the time, especially when I'm anxious. I stopped worrying about it when I found out that there's a pretty major muscle that runs along the neck right there, and it feels super good when you massage it (or go to bed bath and beyond and "sample" one of their massage machines). Think about how stiff you are when you're anxious. Of course your neck would hurt! If it's not a muscle pain you feel, I also get jaw pain too... I think all of this stuff is because us anxiety sufferers tend to clench/grind our jaws, even without realizing it. I didn't even know that was happening until I went to the dentist and he told me I was grinding away my enamel lol..

I get this when I'm highly anxious!! Try deep breathing relaxation music a hot shower will relax your muscles! It's very common to feel that way..... Relax :-)

I had pain in lower jaw and it turned out to be an infection in my ear and my gland was up under my ear. Went to specialist and had scans to show that it was just a gland up not any serious lump. The lump lasted for years and it has only just gone after about 5 years. I was told that this type of infection can last a long time, and antibiotics do not always clear it up.

Once I had scan and knew lump was a gland I stopped worrying and I could stop my worrying and anxiety over it.

So always good to make sure something is OK by Dr or hospital, and then know you can stop worrying and anxiety if possible about it.

Same here. I go to the dentist every 6 months. The last two times I've been, he said ive been grinding and to buy a night guard. I figured he was just trying to get more $$ out of me since I never have cavities etc. then I went to my doc because for the last month I've been having a really uncomfortable neck, jaw, and ear. With tinnitus. Well, she had me open and close my mouth while she put her fingers on my jaw joints. Sure enough there is grinding at the joint of the side that's bothering me. She also said I need a night guard. Looks like I'll be getting one afterall. Hopefully it relieves some of the symptoms.
