Today is the day I'm supposed to start my new meds

I've been taking celexa for years with no issues until recently. The FDA released findings that doses over 40mg can cause severe arrhythmia. I had been on 60mg so my doc lowered my dose. A few weeks later I started having panic attacks and general anxiety. Yesterday she prescribed me a new med (Effexor) and told me to start taking it today. Now I'm nervous about taking it. What if I have a seizure or something or start hallucinating because my brain chemistry is messed up? I woke up today and thought 'Hey I feel fine, I don't need new meds' but I'm pretty sure that's an avoidance tactic on my part. I'm so scared to try this. Help!

Effexor is usally a good SSRI, do you have GAD or panic attacks, did the doc gave you any benzos in case its working funny ??

I have general anxiety and depression with panic attacks. I have lorazapam that my doc has me taking every eight hours to stay calm while the meds get into my system. I've been on the Effexor over a week now and I don't really see any improvement.
