Anti depressants take 3-6 weeks to start working, so have to persevere with them. If in end they don't work for you, just ask to try some others, until eventually you find some that help you. Taking tablets is a good idea - shows you accept you have a problem which is good. Also ask GP to refer you to mental health team and you can then get more support, not just tablets. Some really good NHS courses to go on and meet people on them to talk to at the courses which really helps. Keep trying whatever you can to feel better, and accept will always have ups and downs. Keeping mood diary good idea - when you look back you realise that not all days have been as bad as you think, so chinks of hope.

It takes some time to have the medication kick in and take effect. I was feeling the same way when i started taking prozac. You gotta be strong. I know its easier said than done. Im 25 myself and have been dealing with it for 2 years.
