Has anyone taken Effexor for anxiety?

I have. It was ok... Better than Paxil... For me, and coming off them wasn't as bad as coming off Paxil. I'm taking Cipralex right now but it doesn't seen to be working all that great. Upped my dose and it got way worse.. Now back down. Antidepressants for my anxiety just don't seem to work with me... Haven't found the right one. All Meds will effect everyone differently.

My doctor just prescribed me Effexor I haven't taken it yet I'm nervous.

I just realize how silly that sounds of course I'm nervous I have anxiety

It was awesome for me. Took about 4 weeks to kick in. Less than most

Medicine is different for everyone, my personal experience with this one is that it made me have a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach constantly. I just felt sick and could not take it. But that does not necessarily mean that will happen for you. Good Luck

Tomorrow will be my seventh day on Effexor and so far I haven't felt much of anything except mild nausea. And of course my anxiety still.

I have and would not go back on it. Also I've been on Cipralex recently and it helped for a couple of weeks then.. Down. Anxiety up. Went higher dose and major side effects for over a month. But still every med will work different on every person. I find Anti anxiety Meds can be a lot of trial and error.
