The dose might too high. Try a lower dose or better yet a longer acting benzo. Always use the lowest dose only when really needed. Alankay

I'm on .25 I feel like it relaxes me, then when it wears off I'm like...bleh. I'm only supposed to take them when I'm feeling an attack coming on. I start lexapro as an everyday thing tonight. I hate this whole new medicine thing:( I was on Celexa for two years then it stopped working..... So here I am! LOL.

Xanax makes me feel like I'm kind of drunk. I laugh more and can hold a boring conversation with a family member without getting irritable and impatient. I feel more accepting of things on Xanax. I feel more acceptable, too. Likable.
It will put me to sleep sometimes, especially if I take it when I'm already tired. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, I pop a second one and go back to sleep.
It does cause grogginess the next day for sure, but it's a hit or miss for me. Sometimes I feel ultra calm the following day or ultra sleepy/depressed.
If I take it earlier, it just makes me feel more normal and gets rid of the anxiety in my stomach.
I took one a few hours ago and I'm still feeling it. Going to sleep!

I get the drunk thing! It's kinda like doubled vision. I take one before bed. So far I wake up groggy, and feel like total shit! I wake up a little freaked out, too. So I take one in the morning, as well. I've only been on it a week! Maybe I'm just adjusting? Lol but the doc said after a couple weeks of taking it everyday, I'm just supposed to pop one when I start to feel a panic. It kinda makes me feel like I'm just sauced all day. Just not feeling myself. It's hard to explain!

Actually it makes me a little giddy, probably because my anxiety gets so high that relief allows me to be a little less on edge.
I take very small doses though. The last time I took a standard dose I slept for nearly 12 hours... I don't think that's a good thing.

Yes. I'm feeling super tired all day, but for once in the past like 3 months, I've had a decent day. Went out and shopped for prom dresses. It was amazing.

I'd ask about ativan. It has a slightly longer half life. Xanax is a young person metabolizes very quickly...maybe too quickly. Also ativan is not quite as potent so will perhaps not make you feel sleepy or emotionless as you put it. I like to see xanax used in older folks(they take longer to metabolize it), folks with depression as well or for those whom other benzos don't quite cut it. Alankay.

I'll ask about it. Thanks for the advice!
