Meds and Wanting Children

I know I need it. Ive been holding off for awhile. I remember talking to my doctor last year and she told me to take the meds. She said that when I was ready for kids I could ween myself off of them. It's not like I am planning to have kids anytime soon but what if I do....I'm afraid to start the meds for depression and anxiety and then have to go through the process of getting off of them.
I feel it will be all for nothing.
Another thing is I know the meds lower sex drive and its already low enough with this suffering.

Help.Anyone been through this before?

I know you are having troubles but from one person to another who is wanting kids, if you haven't taken the medicine yet, don't. I started taking medicine when I was 19. I got married around 22 and we wanted to have kids. I got off birth control but I knew if I was ever going to have kids I had to get off the anxiety meds. Here I am now 30. Still trying to get pregnant and still on the medication. There are a lot of safe meds as well as some herbal things for depression and anxiety if you want kids so do a little research and go back to doctor and let them know you want to have children so they won't give you anything that would harm a baby.

I've been on different meds since I was 16 years old and I am now 31! I just recently got off Lexapro so I can start trying for a baby. I set myself up for the worst and I think that caused me more anxiety! I can honestly say that I've been off for about 2 months now and I feel ok. I just keep telling myself this isn't about you, it's about a baby and keeping yourself healthy for the baby!!

I take Prozak before for a long time . I got off when decided to get pregnant. I got pregnant and 2 months later due to some very stressful situation my anxiety and Panic came back while I was 2 mos pregnant. Severe anxiety and depression. I could not sleep at all not even 30 min and was losing a lot of weight. After 4 mos they put me back on Prozak and some sleeping pills. I refused to take it worrying that it will harm my baby but the Doctor said after 4 mos it is already okay. Because I couldn't handle the anxiety and depression I took those medicine and prayed my Baby will be alright. Now my Son is 15 years old healthy and very smart Boy. Thank God that those drugs did not harm the fetus. I think during the first 3 or 4 months when the fetus has not been developed it is unsafe. I don't know maybe I was just lucky and God heard my prayers. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to just not take the meds. I'll be 30 soon so its a waste to start taking it now just to get right off of them.

Zoloft is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Zoloft is very unsafe it has been proven to cause so many birth defects. Watch the tv cleft lip all kinds of things.

I have had 4 children !!!! A 17 year old a 15 year old a 13 year old and now a new baby who is 5 months old. I have Been on Zoloft for years and on 100mg of it throughout all 4 of my pregnancies. All my children are perfect !!!!!!!! Zoloft is one of the safer drugs to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding !!!!!!!!!! It is safer for your unborn baby if u are on this then to come off it and have the panic and anxiety.....
