Hello, my name is Rebecca and I just got discharged from the psychiatric hospital. I was there because I had threatened suicide, but I offered to admit myself voluntarily. The ambulance took me.
they put me on 50 mg of haldol, 500 mg of depakote, 2 mg of cogentin to stop the tremors, which are a popular side effect of the antipsychotic I'm on, Xanax 4-6 mg daily as needed and temazepam 30 mg for sleep.
Has anyone ever tried depakote at all because the two times in my life I was on it I found it to be a good mood stabilizer for bipolar and anxiety. I just listed all of my psychiatric meds that I was prescribed and has anyone tried any of them?

Sincerely,
Rebecca

Wowee! That is a lot of kick ass medication!! You must feel like you rattle when you walk.

I was prescribed tamazapam when I was in patient to help me sleep at hospital and it worked a treat.

Good luck with your recovery.

Hey rebecca ive tried every single med that you stated. I tried depakote for only a month. 500mg of depakote made me a zombie. Every med works differently for every other person . But when i was on depakote and tried going to work my boss freaked out and pulled me into the office and said i need to take a leave of absence because i was that zombied out. I to was admitted into a pshychiatric facility for suicide idiation and i admitted myself. Its always good to admitt yourself that shows that you want to live and get help for whatever u r going thru. I stop taking cogentin because it caused me to have urinary retention and constipation. I switched from xanax to klonapin. Xanax can be a bit addicting . But when i was on it, it seemed like a fun drug it curved my anxiety the greatest but it did also make me sleepy. Klonapin makes me sleepy to but whatever . I took temazapam for sleeping disorders i had . For the first three months it worked for me but after that it had no affect and still had sleeping issues. So they then perscribe serouquil to me . Serouquil did wonders for my insomnia. I stopped taking serouquil and only take them as needed maybe every other month or as needed to get sleep on tough nights. I took like 50 mg haldol as well and stop taking haldol because it to made me a zombie. Ive been to a pshyc ward over 6 times before they found the right meds for me .Its good to know there are people out there you can relate to . Give me your feedback i'll be waiting
