Hi, my name is Chance, and I've posted on here before. It has been a while since I've posted but I have a few questions. For the past few months I have been taking Paxil off and on. I would get discouraged and wouldn't take it and so the psychiatrist thought that it wasn't working. I was recently switched to Prozac about 2 weeks ago and I've been taking it as prescribed. I was told I am suffering from severe depression and I have social phobia. The depression isn't getting any better and I am always feeling hopeless, when that gets bad I start to feel suicidal. I need help and that's why I'm talking to a psychiatrist and therapist but I feel like it's getting nowhere. I've noticed my school work is starting to slip and I am getting more and more lazy. I have absolutely no drive to succeed or do anything productive. I can't even get up to go to the mall I just want to sleep all day. And I've also been extremely moody for a guy lately. I get upset over the stupidest, smallest things, and get extremely excited when I have even 1 good day. I just hate how I've been feeling and I just need help because what I'm doing obviously isn't working. I'm sorry if I'm posting this is the wrong area or anything. I just want someone to talk to who may know what's going on or who may have been or is going through the same thing. Thanks.

It does sound like you have a disorder of some type, probably depression. Stick with both the prozac and therapist as these things take time. You may need an addon to get you out of your funk but no energy, etc, is depression related. Your best bet is to work closely with the pdoc and therapist. Be honest, open and tell them all your feelings and symptoms. Alankay
