First day on Paxil

I'm only on 10 mg of Paxil and this is my first day on it. All day I felt okay just a little wierd at times and I just woke up in the middle of the night with a wierd feeling in my chest and unable to fall back asleep. I really hate the fact im on medication and kind of just want to stop already. Any advice?

I think the best advice I can give would be to just stick with it for a while (if you can). I've had my Paxil dosage raised from 10 mg to 40 mg over the course of 3+ months. I've noticed improvements throughout the way.

When I first started on Paxil and on the days I increased my dose I felt really foggy. That only lasted the one day though. Other than that I have lost my appetite some and have dry mouth.

Give that med a fair chance as it takes time to work. If you want to stop just taper off over a few weeks depending on the dose. In time it should help. Alankay.

That med can help you a lot I'm on 40mg of that now and it's just starting to help me i've been on it for about a month and a half. I wokeup like twice in the middle of the night so i kind of think thats normal.

Thank you guys for the advice, I just woke up again at about the same time tonight and I jumped out of bed with the wierdest feeling in my head and I was panicing. Such a scary feeling. This stuff never happens to me when I don't take meds.

Those side effects will diminish. I too took Paxil a few years ago an went thru the same thing. Give it about a week or two and u should notice a difference. Take it in the morning If u r doing that now try to move it to the night seen if that helps.

I took Paxil for a short time when I was 19, but it gave me vivid nightmares so I stopped.

I was on it for years and definitely felt weird the first few days. It subsided though and Paxil turned out to be a life changer for me.
