Prescribed meds

I was just prescribed Paxil and I'm really nervous about trying it out. I've always kind of had a fear of meds, but my doctor told me he felt it was a good idea and to just see how it works out. I do trust him but I'm just a little nervous. Anyone have any advice or good experiences with Paxil before?

I am on paxil presently. My counselor recommends it over all other anxiety meds, so I just decided to go with it. I was on 12.5mg but not experiencing any difference. I told my doc and he increased it to 25mg. I do feel calmer most of the time, but the anxiety is still there. I was told it takes a while to kick in, so I'm sticking with it for at least another month to see if there are any significant improvement, but I'm also considering a more natural approach to this thing.

Same with me I feel a more natural approach would be better but I'm taking my doctors advice and trying it out. Was 12.5 mg the actual dose he recommended you begin at?
