So I have another obsession: googling all my obsessions and symptoms. So this morning I googled something called hypnagogic hallucinations because I have them sometimes. sure enough someone said they had a relative with these who had them because he was a schizo. I immediately broke down crying because I am convinced I am a schizo thanks to googling. It's the dumbest thing someone with anxiety could do.

Oh gosh, while Google can be helpful in some ways (directions, news, etc) it can be the WORST thing ever for anxiety sufferers like us. I totally refuse to Google symptoms anymore, because it always gives you the worst results.

Agree! and you end up finding new illnesses related to your feelings and become obsessed again. I still search sometimes because I am still convinced there is something wrong with me but always end up feeling worse!!

Dont do it! I finally had to stop doing it because it would make my anxiety worse. I also liked to take my blood pressure all the time & i finally had to stop doing that. Now that i dont google symptoms & stuff i feel A LOT better.

Fight the urge to google...it makes my anxiety spike everytime I look up something and begin reading. This is just crazy.

I never ever google anymore. Like others my anxiety is health related and googling is the worst thing u can do to your mind. As soon as i google it imediatly throws me into a panic attack.... So now i google cures and help for panic attacks instead. I replaced my google with a positive search

Google and WebMD will throw you into a Full-Blown panic attack if you start to lookup all of your symptoms! I was guilty of doing the same thing for many years and I still find it hard not to hit the web and search any new symptoms. The best thing is to force yourself to see your MD for regular checkups (not every week) and believe that your blood-work / tests are normal and it's just anxiety.
