Went and saw my wonderful GP today!! She's started me on a low dose of Ativan. Fingers crossed it works for me?

Ativan is great! I have tried different kinds of meds to help with my anxiety but i have found that ativan has worked great for me. Whenever I feel that agitation coming in , i just chew one up and let it dissolve in my mouth and kicks in, in 7mins after that and relaxes me to where I felt normal 3 years ago. I really want to feel normal again...im starting to forget what it felt like to be normal and I dont want that.

Hi and Thankyou both for your kind replies :-) I'm so glad I went to the doctors, Ive had half an Ativan and am feeling calmer already!! Andrew I certainly know how you feel and am gkad that Ativan also helps you. I would not wish anxiety ect upon my worst enemy because it's so debilitating to say the least. I started having panic attacks when i turned 12 and I'm nearly 45 now but as the yrs go on it gets worse?? I will never understand why this happens and if it will ever go away!! We can only hope that it may go away one day! Take care....... Beverley. :-)

Thanks Beverley. Tonight im going to go swimming and see how that works for me...maybe to get my mind of it as much as possible will help...ativan works for me but i dont want to be dependant on it forever...hopefully it works.

I'm seeing a psychologist. Trying to beat it without meds. Been fighting it for a year now. Mine only started after a very traumatic miscarriage this time last year :(
I'm just sick of the daily dizziness and faint feeling and not bring able to sit still or enjoy anything!!!

Today has been bad already....i cant sit still for a second...if i sit still my face will twitch...also ive had the flu and been coughing alot and now my temples hurt and im scared that there is something wrong with the veins near them . worried if they are going to rupture or something.

My body totally freezes when I have to sit still, then I can't move properly....... Its horrible feeling like that!!

Not really it just calms me down a bit! Doesn't stop the physical symptoms at all...

Hi Rhar., How are you? Well I got to the doctors JUST! I have to see my colorectal surgeon on Monday morning. I've got a parastomal hernia and have to have surgery unfortunately :-( This will be my 2nd repair as I had one 4yrs ago. Anyway how are you going is your anxiety better today? Hope so :-) Take care. Sorry to hear about the health problems tho.

I'm doing ok this week thanks. Just exhausted from battling damn anxiety everyday!! But, things could be worse!!
