Has anyone had any experience with Moclobemide? Its a reversible MOAI drug. I've been on it for 2 and half months, first at 300mg then 450(didn't want to try SSRI's, I have asthma so beta blockers are out, benzos are for short term treatment only and when i tried therapy a few years back it made me feel worse as it shines this huge microscope on all my issues and makes me feel like crap)

It has reduced the physical effects a lot especially issues with reflux, and I do feel generally calmer, I'm not such a highly strung Basil Fawlty type anymore. The first 2 weeks had gastrointestinal upsets and restlessness but now I don't need to pee as much, I'm more regular and my insides don't churn and rumble so much.
On the negtive side, I'm having more dreams (more accurately I remember more of the dreams that I have) majority bad, but even before the drugs when ver I did have a dream it would be bad anyway so I guess its just an expansion of that. I can still get irritated by little things, I still have paranoid and OCD thoughts. The drug is also often used for social anxiety and depression but I don't feel any more social or any less socially awkward, as far as general happines and depression goes, I'm not actually sure.

Am I right in thinking that no drug is going to give total elimination of the sypmtoms it is prescribed for? That no matter how good the drug, there will still be occasional, irregular relapses or "episodes"?

Depends. Some get great relief from meds other not so much and some get no/little benefit. Some anxiety is acute(from life's situations) and others chronic(some a bit of both). Some anxiety(OCD, PSTD) respond differently than GAD, SA or PD(panic disorder). In all the course of your anxiety will vary in most all it's exact aspects so that's a question with no one solid answer. All we can do is seek the best treatments for our cases. Find the best combination of psychotherapy, meds, CBT, lifestyle/diet/exercise, meditation, exposure therapy, etc and find what helps best. Never give up hope. Alankay
