figured i'd ask here.

I've had a sore throat since December 21st and have seen a specialist and got an Endoscopy, apparently everything looked fine but none the less I STILL have a sore throat? I have also noticed the last month that I am intensely tired. I go to bed around 1-2 am and get up between 8-10 am. I wake up a few times in the night to use the bathroom or what not, but by noon i'm yawning excessively and eyes watering and just absolutely tired. Lastly. I noticed about a week ago a swollen lymph node on my left side of my neck, only one, has been raised for ATLEAST a week. The doctor didnt seem worried, and said if it doesnt go away in 1-2 weeks I need to get blood work, and possibly a MRI of my neck?

To sum it up:

Is any of this normal? a month long cold, a month long sore throat, a swollen lymph node for a couple of weeks, and exhaustion like I described?

I'm trying not to Google stuff so I come here instead.

Sounds like Mononucleosis.

I've had mono before, is it possible to get it again? The symptoms I described is all I feel.

Yes u can contract mono more than once. Also you may wanna get your thyroid checked. It can cause sore throat as well.

Dazza - her eyes are obviously 78.... Whuh?

Seriously, if your Dr isn't worried, you should try not to stress. If you have had glandular fever (mono), the blood result will probably be the same (you either have it, don't have it or have had it recently). Has anyone that you're in close contact with been sick lately? Specifically, sick with mono? Or something with similar symptoms to what you have?

Personally, it takes me a good month to get over a cold. If I had the same symptoms as you, I would definitely be seeing my Dr to rule out a throat infection, which I assume you have done.
Another question - are you a smoker? If so (a lot of anxious types are), it will take you longer to repair when it comes to respiratory illnesses.
As for the lymph nodes - they're supposed to be swollen if you're sick. They're part of your immune system.

If you are still feeling the same, can you call your doctor to arrange the paper work for the blood test and then pick it up and get the samples done before you go back for an appointment?

Thanks all, sorry it took long to reply. Wasn't in access to a computer!

As far as the Lymph Node, I was told if it doesnt go away in a week or two I need to get blood work, neck MRI, and possibly a Biopsy to make sure it's nothing bad.

I'm pretty darn scared now!
