lost my appitite

Since startin citalopram a week ago ive not been hungry at all. Does anyone know how long this will last. Cant afford to lose weight

I've not had a decreased appetite from my medication, but I haven't had an appetite since having a stomach bug a few months ago.
The only thing I could do to stop myself losing too much weight was to drink smoothies or milkshake rather than water to try to get some calories if I wasn't hungry.

I've always had times in my life where I have no appetite, so I used to use the Nestlé Build Up milkshakes too sometimes because they have a lot of vitamins & stuff added into them.
Hopefully your appetite will come back once the side effects start to disappear.

Hey girls, I'm dealing with the same thing. I got the stomach bug 2 months back and haven't had an appetite since. I am scared of throwing up so that definitily triggered my anxiety back. I can't afford to loose weight either.

I would imagine your appetite will improve over the next few weeks, the side effects usually disappear after a few weeks. Just try you're best to eat small meals until it returns, if it takes longer than a few weeks to return go back and see your doctor :)

Ah see you should take them just before u go to bed that way the side affects your getting will happen during ur sleep and u won't know 😊 that's wot doc told me to do x

I always lose my appetite in the first week of meds (or if I increase dosage). It goes back to normal in two weeks or so
