So I started smoking before anxiety became an issue and before I had my 1st panic attack. But the lady month I've noticed that when I smoke, its been causing more anxiety. does anybody have any insight on this?

nicotine makes your heartbeat and blood pressure go up some and that will make your anxiety worse.I don't smoke but i chew tobacco-same effect and it doesn't mix with anxiety/panic attacks.

That makes sense. I can feel that happening while smoking. I, always heard that smoking cigs is really calming and that it helps with pannic attacks.

Nicotine has stimulant properties as mentioned above, If people with anxiety are sensitive to stimulants it often results in the anxiety worsening. Another example of this would be coffee causing anxiety.

Ya I really noticed it with coffee. Don't drink it anymore. What's even harder with cigs is that when you try to quit the anxiety gets really bad cause you're body is craving nicotine. Its a lose lose situation

I can't drink coffee, at all. When, I do it has to be decaffeinated because I instantly feel my heart going into overdrive after a cup. Sometimes, I forget or try to make believe it won't happen. Is this something that happens mostly with people who suffer from anxiety or do almost all people have this adverse affect to caffeine?
