It's good to hear that you are willing to keep with it in the start up phase, I hope the side effects disappear for you :)

I have been on 10mg for two weeks and just took my first 20mg today. I have had some yucky side effects but I am starting to notice a difference ... Here is hoping I don't have to go through more side effects on 20mg.

I've been prescribed cipralex about 3 months ago for generalized anxiety disorder I have been battling with my anxiety/panic disorder for several years now.. my anxiety was getting so bad that it was affecting my whole life and the people in my life.. also I just felt like it was getting worse everyday that I could no longer fight the battle on my own... I finally caved in and started the cipralex 10 mg.. on day 9 today .. the first few days were rough.. nausea, headaches, worsen anxiety, dizziness, dry mouth.. but I think a lot of the side effects had to do with my anxiety and phobias of pretty much everything possible.. but it is getting better.. today I feel pretty good.. like most of the side effects are subsiding ... I get a few mini attacks during the day but nothing that I can't control.. I also find taking it in the morning works the best for me I am able to sleep better at night... I'm also taking .5 mg of clonazepam before the cipralex and one before bed and it makes such a difference... I can't wait to hit my 4 week mark to see if this medication works for me.. but I suggest sticking with it.. each day does get easier.. I know a lot of ppl have different views on the medication and it doesn't always work the same with everyone.. but u have to give it a fair shot.. and sorta ride out any nasty side effects for the first little bit.. good luck!
Went back to my doc on monday this is my first visit since being given citalopram and he was really impressed to see how its helped me and i was happy to tell him that im feeling veryvery good with this medicine and im almost back to my old self which a few months ago i thought i would never get back to. So he has now given me a repeat prescription and does not want to see me again till april unless anything before that happens. Im really happy with the outcome of these as i too had bad side effects but i urge anyone to stick with them and you will be really happy you took them. They are a life saver for me and im sure they will have you thinking the same
Goodluck people.
