Can pain or stress trigger emotions?

i suffer from ibs alternating with constipation and diarea also ive had insomnia for the past year i sleep like 2-3 hours every night and when i eat something that irritates my stomach i feel like feeling depression as well as i feel pain and vice versa when i get an emotion i feel pain as well
