Good luck.
I started them on Tuesday & have had no side effects.
I did buy rescue remedy today though to take the edge off, as I was told by my doctor that the Citalopram can take a couple of weeks to fully kick in.
Wishing you the best!

Diazepam has my thumbs up. Amazing medication... but NOT to be abused and ONLY on a "as needed" basis.

I like Fernando too. You didn't name him after the popular, 1976 ABBA song did you? :-D

I think such a pet would be good for a chat-up line...

As in; "Alright ladies... wanna sniff of my corn snake?"

Ha no they don't. I'm the only one who thinks he smells lovely.

Aims, I've been put on 20mg of Citalopram & can honestly say that I've had no side effects. I found that if I read the possible side effects, then I was more likely to think I was experiencing them.

Today is the only day in the past week & a half that I've not had a full blown panic attack. I can only really put that down to the medication starting to work & trying Rescue Remedy for the first time.

The last 3 medications that I was on did nothing to help in the 6 months that I used them.

I hope the citalopram works for you. It should help somewhat, but I think we all know that we need to fight it off fully ourselves. The medication can help, but it shouldn't be a life long solution.

Im only gonna use it as needed, I'd never ever mess with anything like that!

Does rescue remedy actually help?

I only tried it for the first time today. I felt an attack starting whilst I was on my lunch break, so I bought some & tried it. After around 15mins I felt a lot calmer & it did not turn into a full panic attack (which would usually happen after my symptoms start).
Each time I felt it happening today, I did another 2 sprays & I have still not had an attack.
I'm not saying its a miracle worker or anything, but I'm going to keep it with me from now on.

I'd say to give it a go definitely. It tastes like brandy too, which is quite pleasant.

Deep breath & then take it. If you're worried about taking it, then you may feel worse once you do. But it's all in your mind.
It's going to help you :)
It's 1 pill, once a day that will hopefully end up making a huge difference in your life.

Just dive in, it's not gonna hurt.

They say that depression can worsen before it gets better with these things, so be prepared for a possible downer before the upper.

See how it goes me old flower...

Kind of smells leathery. Which is weird, because I'm a vegetarian & don't even wear leather. Oh well.

Good luck, Aims! I was nervous to take it too, but it's only been prescribed to us to help, so it can only go up from here!

The worst (rare) that could happen with this med. is that you'll get a side effect.

Just keep an eye on yourself and ensure that you inform your doctor of any symptoms, should they occur.

You may not feel any obvious improvement for 2 to 4 weeks.

We're all behind you... including Fernando! (he says Yesssssssssssssssssss!)
