I just started week two. And as all people say, this medication takes a really long time to register. Well my experience-I am feeling way better.
Before I started the citalopram, from a 0-100 scale of my Anxiety and depression (100 being the highest) I was medically ranked an 89 by my psychiatrist and therapist. On my checkup yesterday, they rated me at 55. May not seem to much, but to them and myself it is drastic. I haven't had a full blown panic attack in about five days. I still get bursts of anxiety but nothing compared to before. The early symptoms of SSRI'S have almost completely faded (nausea, headaches, jaw clenching, and insomnia.)

I feel way better. And I hope to get my levels way down. I hope to give some hope to others who haven't started the process of therapy or medication or Bo. clenchinginsomnia)

I think the best thing with a new medication is to jump in at the deep end & just take it. If you're nervous, take it when you're with a friend or family member for the support.
I was on citalopram 20mg, but my doctor changed it to Zoloft today.
I had zero side effects with citalopram, it just didn't work for me. This isn't to say that it won't work for you. Everyone is different.
Wishing you luck!
