I've been taking 37.5 mg of Effexor for almost a week now and have had a constant, severe headache. Is this normal? Will it eventually subside? Suggestions? Help!

I think it will subside. You could try taking half in the AM and the other half in the PM to even out the blood level which just might help. Tylenol/acetaminophen for now. :( Alankay

When I started Effexor, I mainly had severe dry mouth, and insomnia. Started taking it after I woke up, worked a lot better. But then, as my dosage increased, I started having really dry eyes and mouth. Like almost to the point I didn't want to take them anymore. Since the last upped dosage, though, things have calmed, and it's not as bad as it was.
You could always see if headache is a possibly side effect. Talk to your doctor though, if you're thinking of stopping the Effexor.

ive been on it for 4 days. weird thing is ive taken this medication about 5yrs ago and never had much side effects. Now im nauseated, feel hot or cold, head feels weird and am quite dizzy. My doc also gave me xanax for whenever i need it, however it just makes me even dizzier which makes the nausea worse. I called my doctor and he told me it'll take about 2 weeks for it to start kicking it, i think we should both hold out a bit longer!

Also if you feel nauseated, my pharmacist told me to try Bonine, it helps a bit. I believe Tylenol is okay but call ur pharmacist and ask them what they recommend.
