I have been taking Zoloft for a month now, insomnia is so bad, and my appetite is still none existent. I got a few hours of sleep last night, and felt good this morning. I usually take my Zoloft when I first get up, but I wanted to wait till lunch. So I felt pretty good until I took my Zoloft 50 mg, after I did I got all jittery and anxious for the rest of the day. Could Zoloft not be the right med for me, not seeing any benefits yet? Any suggestions?

I would ask your doctors, I'm not on that med. have you seen any improvement? Hope the dr can help!

Hi lostone:
I just found this forum, but wanted to respond to your post.
My doctor just switched me from 50mg Zoloft to 10mg Lexapro this past Monday.

Zoloft was too stimulating for me, it increased my anxiety, gave me tremors where my whole body shook, and I became agoraphobic where I had great anxiety just trying to leave the house, which I never had before starting zoloft. I was on it for 6 weeks total. 25mgs for two weeks, then 50mgs for 4 weeks. I thought it was side effects at first, because with SSRI's sometimes the symptoms get worse before they get better, but my anxiety kept increasing the longer I took it. I was constantly shaking like I was cold.

So far I am on day 2 of lexapro, and other than some nausea, dizziness and a headache, it seems to be going OK for me, but the transition is still new. I still have the tremors, but they are slowly decreasing. I am not sure how long Zoloft stays in the system, so they may be with me for a few days yet.

It sounds like Zoloft might not be the med for you. I was hopeful it would work for me, and feel like I wasted 6 weeks, so I am hoping that the Lexapro helps me.

Good luck !

I just began zoloft, it's been about a week. My doctor told me to take it at night incase it makes me sleepy. I usually have trouble sleeping at night and am really tired during the day. Would you recommend me switching to take it during the day? I just fear if I do that I will experience more side effects where right now I don't notice many since I'm not awake while it is working you know?

I take mine in the morning, which seems to work better for me, but it could be just the anxiety not letting me sleep instead of the zoloft. Right now I have ths icy hot sensation over the body and breathing feels like a menthol... Isn't anxiety frigging weird!

Hi! :)

I had trouble sleeping at night with this medication so I decided to switch it to the morning just after eating. I noticed no different side effects or symptoms and did not feel any weirder then I did to begin with. I can't *promise* you that you will not notice (especially if you go into it thinking you will), but for me, it was absolutely the right move.

Good luck!
