Hello, I'm new to this forum and just really need some people to relate to and talk with. I've suffered from depression since I was 14 when my best friend passed away playing a game. I've been a little better the last few years but now at 22 years old its back :( I'm a soon to be single mom, my son is due jan 8th and don't know how to overcome these feelings. What are some things others have tried to get through their depression, I'm so tired of feeling this way and crying so much.

I understand the depression thing. Your pregnancy can most definitely make things worse. Do you see a therapist?

I don't see one yet. I was hiding my depression and finally came out and told family so they are helping me find someone, it's just a matter of who will fit in with the insurance.

Yeah insurance can also make tongs harder, maybe you could see you regular doc and tell them, maybe they can prescribe something for after you deliver.

I'm hoping for Zoloft, but I don't know much about it.

I previously took lexapro, last I heard it wasn't safe to take during pregnancy. There's a lot I'd like to try I'm just scared to try a bunch of different things before the baby comes.

Yeah it's hard to have to wait that long to be able to take meds again.

before taking medication try natural ways around it. 30mins of light exercise per day is known to help boost mood and of course be healthy. maybe try exercise as your free therapy and keep a diary to jot down your feelings and see if that helps. :) and good luck with your baby, i am sure he will be a little cutie. :)
