Does anyone else suffer from morbid thoughts and if so how do you control them?
My anxiety started several years ago but I only did something about it just over 2 years ago when I was constantly having morbid thoughts - I'd lie awake at night worrying about the ways my family might die, or if my boyfriend didn't text back within a few hours I'd be absolutely convinced he'd died. I started on citalopram which helped a lot with the thoughts and did some CBT, then moved to venfalaxine and propanalol to help with the physical feelings of anxiety (at this point the morbid thoughts had stopped but I was still getting panicky feelings).
After over a year of being absolutely fine (apart from two panic attacks) the morbid thoughts are back and with a vengeance! Other than them in feeling fine - its only when the morbid thoughts strike that I get anxious and then it's like a vicious circle.
I just want to be able to get these horrible thoughts out of my head as they are taking up more and more time and can get me really down.
Any advice/ experiences welcome!
Thanks.
