Hello, I am new here and want some advice on Zoloft. I started having panic attacks when I was 16 (3 years ago) I started on Zoloft 50mg and ended up at 100mg which worked great for me until last December when I weened off because of pregnancy. In July during my third trimester (7-21) my panic attacks returned and I had to start taking it again, started 50 as I had before. I started feeling better after about 2-3 weeks, but then it started getting worse again and i've been dealing with it but it became too unbearable, so without a doctors order I increased to 75mg last Saturday (13th) I know you are not supposed to increase your dose without speaking to a doctor but my next appointment is November 21st and I cannot get in sooner (yes, i've asked and I asked to be put on a list to be called if anyone cancels their appointment), so I had no choice unless I wanted to suffer and be miserable (and trust me, having a 7 week old and several panic attacks a day is not ideal) Anyway, it's been almost 4 days now since starting 75 (posting this at 1:32am on 10-17), I hadn't had a panic attack until a few hours ago (and still feeling anxious/panicky like another may hit anytime), so that's making me think my therapeudic dose may be 100 like it was before.. so can I up it again on this Saturday since it will have been one week since my first increase? That is if the panic attacks continue/get worse. Or should I wait until it's been 2 weeks? I cannot make it to November 21st, I just can't! Please, someone help me! I hate feeling like I can't take care of my child to the best of my ability. I am seeing therapist and will be seeing her again the 29th of this month but of course she isn't a doctor. Thanks in advance!!

Yes, you can. I think it makes perfect sense:

You're not pregnant anymore. Zoloft is thought safe when breast feeding.
It's a dosage that worked for you in the past.
Your anxiety is making you unable to lead a normal life, and take care of your responsibilities in a subjectively satisfactory fashion.

Still, is there no other doctor you can see before that appointment? Your gynecologist, or your child's pediatrician?
