please help

I was on 20 mg of Paxil for about 6 months, I have gained 50 lbs. I stopped taking the Paxil 3 weeks ago and I'm still gaining weight, has anyone else had this problem with Paxil?

Lady, yeah Paxil can have that effect more so than others. I noticed the munchies with zoloft but not celexa/lexapro(didn't sleep well on either) so am back on prozac and am doing better. Try another AD is what I'm saying. You might find another helps with anxiety and has fewer side effects. Trial and error things these AD's. Alankay

If you take birth control and Paxil that will make you gain weight. I'm on birth control and seroquel which made me gain 20 pounds in 6 weeks.

I don't take birth control. IM more depressed now then I was before I was put on the Paxil.

I would say you need to try something else. Talk to your dr about switching over to Wellbutrin it actually causes weight loss.

I was diagnosed with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder with agoraphobia, ocd, I need a med that will help with shall of this. Does wellbutrin help with these disorders?

In my personal opinion yes. I have OCD agoraphobia bi polar panic disorder and it did help me. I probably should have continued it but I wanted to try paxil because of the panic. Talk to your doctor about it though. In my opinion it's a great med.

Btw since that was kind of confusing lol I was taking the Wellbutrin before the panic disorder crap happened I had stopped taking it on my own and about two months later I got the panic disorder stuff but I always had gad I just wanted to try something different

It does cause weight gain. When I was 16 I took it and it actually helped the anxiety but it was making me gain weight so I stopped taking it.
You shouldn't take meds that make you gain weight it will just make you feel like crap.
