My doctor put me on trazodone 50 mg at night. after just 24 hours on it I just have a really big headache. I know it takes time to see real changes but I really am not liking it so far

Takes a few weeks but it might help with sleep as well as anxiety. Have you tried any of the ssri's/snri's?? Alankay

I flushed that crap. After a few days my muscles hurt so bad I couldn't get up! Be very careful with that crap.

Alankay: Im just starting treatment for my anxiety/depression and my doctor wants to knock out one problem at a time. Starting with my sleep issues. I don't have a problem falling asleep,more of staying asleep after nightmares or just noise waking me

Trazadone is terrible I hate it! When I was on it it knocked me out and I felt so groggy in the morning. I really suggest not taking it :(

For staying asleep you can try an antihistamine like atarax(via rx), Doxylamine(unisom)OTC or even diphenhyramine or Tavist(also OTC). They often help. Doxepin is another TCA that helps with sleep at a very low dose(3mg-6mg) and might improve depression/anxiety as well. Ask your doc about them all and read up on sleep hygiene(helped me allot). Doctor told me that you have to give yourself enough time to sleep, or it will make you feel like you have a hangover.
