Can we share the good and the bad of the meds we have tried?

I have tried buspar. It worked for anxiety at first then it quit helping me and gave me abnormal ekg and hypertension.

Then i tried paxil for three whole days and then completely lost control!!! Made anxiety way worse.

Now im on xanax prn and it works but my anxiety has been so frequent lately that i am afraid i might need to switch to an everyday type med.

Can anyone share what has actually worked for them? And side effects?

For generalized anxiety a longer acting benzo like valium/klonopin/clorazepate might be better with their longer half lives. All benzos will help though. Alankay

Are the benzos u mentioned less likely to cause dependence or are they all the same?

And how long to the others last in ur system therapeutically?

You might have better luck w/ one of the newer SSRI's like Lexapro than you had w/ Paxil. If you have initial anxiety you can use the Xanax prn like you have been. Once you've been on the Lexapro a month or so you won't need the Xanax except very infrequently.
