View Full Version : Started Zoloft today

I was prescribed 50mg Zoloft and I started today. I really hope this works for my GAD, panic, and depression. I have tried other SSRI's with little luck. Anyone have luck with Zoloft?

My counselor and my cousin both swear by it. I cant say from experience. But good luck :)

Yes, I had some luck with it. It helped to ease my severe/health anxiety but I was unable to continue with it long term because after about a month it just made me really tired and I ended up sleeping away my new happiness!

Just a heads up, as everyone is different this may not happen to you, but a lot of people myself included have an increase in anxiety when starting zoloft, maybe the first week or so, I say that to say this, don't let it bother you. I was afraid that ibhad really lost it or that I was hopeless because it was rough, but all of it went away and I was fine, just realize that if you De feel more anxiety its just the meds, not you.

Prozac made me eat like a pig, now I don't have Prozac but still eat like a pig :( lol!!

The first psychiatric medication I was prescribed after deciding to get help for depression was Zoloft. However, it didn't work for me. It also made me a little manic for a short time. Then my depression returned and I was taken off Zoloft by my doctor and put on new meds.

However, just because Zoloft didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you, as everyone's brain chemistry is different.

Both work fine, I guess. I only have first-hand experience with Paxil, though.

Anyway, do not forget that you will NOT see any improvement during the first weeks. These drugs take a while to work. Cheers!!!
