Not been on for a while fellow anxs... But I decided to bite the bullet and get me some meds ( I really didn't want to resort to pills so I tried dealing with it with a few beers , not a good idea ) I've been put on a half beta prograne Propranolol Hydrochloride 80mg , I just wanted to know if anyone else is on this and wether they have become a dribbling happy vegetable like me.. Seriously not even the neighbors dog ( rat on steroids ) which loves to have a barking contest with anything that moves at 5am most mornings fails to wind me up , a week ago I would of happily drop kicked this anorexic hamster into a river but after a 7 days of this calmer i feel like hugging it rather than throttling it... Anywho , any feed back would be nice... Much love

I love propranolol! I began taking the 80mg slow release tabs several months ago during a particularly bad spell of anxiety (couldn't go to work, leave the house etc) and it made such a difference. No more rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, jumpy feelings, palpitations, sweating and so on. In turn this made me feel well enough to properly focus on therapy and getting myself out of my anxious state. I took one tab a day for a few months and then reduced down and am now on 10mg a day and still feeling normal and sane and pretty much panic free. I do feel that if I hadn't began the beta blockers I would still be stuck in my flat with a racing heart beat and other horrible symptoms wheras now i am back to work full time, socialising and living like a normal human being- bye bye adrenaline surges!
I felt pretty lethargic for about 2 weeks when i began them and also had some pretty messed up dreams but that soon went away. Only down side for me was a bit of weight gain as they seem to slow your whole system down including your metabolism. I was a good girl as well and even ate sensibly and did all the boring things to try not to put weight on. But I decided f*** it, I'd rather go up a dress size and be calm, rational and functioning as opposed to being slimmer but full of panic.
Stick with them and enjoy being relaxed and chilled out.

I know exactly what you mean , I've had some damn weird dreams and felt pretty drained this last week... I had a few beers on Friday and it felt like I was floating... They're definitely helping. Haha.

Lol, the dreams I had were crazy! they didn't upset me or anything but felt very real, I actually quite looked forward to sleeping to see what bizarre things my mind would come up with.
