I've had such bad anxiety today... Heart racing, shaking like a leaf. I need this to go away. I just want to feel normal. Any advise? Help? I called in sick to work today. That just made the anxiety worse I think. Feel like I can't Handle the world or take care of myself or anyone thing else.

The only thing that gives me relief is alcohol and I know that's not good! Usually only makes it worse in the end

Alcahol is the worst for anxiety trust me from a 20 year sufferer
Makes your nerves go threw roof next day :-(
Anxiety is horrible especially when it flares up
Did something trigger it of .?....
I've had a flare up for last 8 months
I fully understand how bad you feel ..
Try and occupie your mind as the more time you have to dwell and think
The worse it gets ,
Your not alone dude

I wish I knew what IT was. This time I don't know what exactly had triggered this. I'm freaking myself out apparently. Im scared tomorrow I'll feel the same way.

There's gotta be SOMETHING in your mind you're focusing on?..Find it! Hold it, then write it down...Writing things down was a vital part of riding myself of the presence of tormenting Mr.Anxietys grip... Sort through the jibberish in your mind and write it down when it appears...

By no means am I trying to suggest that defining our illness is not important. But sometimes i believe those of us that suffer from anxiety and depression want to put a label on what we are dealing with. Guess what the harder you look the easier you will find evidence to support it. I've been struggling with all of the same symptoms. I get so tired, Ohh I must have some weird disease, I have stomach pains, I must have an intestinal bacteria, and so on so on. What I have been starting to see is that these all exist in my head and are sensationalized by my thoughts. It's just a bad thinking habit. That's right I said habit. If we can begin to look at our issues as a bad habit I think we can move towards an objective countering mechanism. Changing a bad habit and replacing it with a better one. But this isn't as easy as it sounds because now how we have been thinking is ingrained in our belief. But I think as soon as we take some ownership of our thinking then we can do something about it.
Real change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing.
Hope this helps.

Breathe. A lot of what anxiety is fear of fear. Don't worry yourself about finding that one elusive thing that might be bothering you- you can't always find the cause. If you fight the fear, it gets bigger. Try letting the panic and the heart racing and the symptoms happen. Sit through them, breathe. Just stop fighting it. Over time, the attacks will decrease in intensity.
