Lump in throat

Occasionally I get a feeling like there is a lump or something stuck in the middle of my throat! It's sooo annoying and in constantly coughing or clearing my throat. Anybody else?? Or anybody can explain?

GERD. (acid reflux)

Could be GERD (a lump that forms to prevent acid rising) or tightening of neck muscles (stress - mimics the same lump you get when you are holding back from crying).

The lump as an entity is called the globus pharyngeus.
