Celexa

Hi,

I am on 5mg of celexa. Doctor want to increase to 10mg. I am scared to increase. Also prescribed Xanax as needed but afraid to take it. Any advice?

I have taken Celexa, I was prescribed 20 mg right away when I was diagnosed with deppresion/anxiety. For me Celexa didnt work so great but everyone reacts to anti-deppresents differently they say, to be frank it killed my sex drive. I'am on 20 mg Paxil right now wich seems to be working for me. As for the Xanax dont be afraid to take them, if your haveing a hard time with anxiety/panic attacks xanax will do so much to help calm you down, you shouldnt have to worry about forming a habit to them as long as you only take them when you feel unbearabley anxious.

I have been on celaxa/citalopram for a long time now and am currently on 40mg but started on 20mg. 10mg is a really small dose so you don't need to be scared. it can take awhile for your body to get used to SSRI's but for me it works.
