Taken off of Celexa = HELL

So i have been doing pretty good since Feb.. thats when i was put on Celexa. Since i started it, it made me feel sick everyday and have been telling my doc and she kept saying lets see what happens next month ( she said this for four months). So I have pretty much had it so She took me off it completely, and didnt put me on anything else. I'm on day 7 with no Celexa and im gong insane. Please help..

Stopping a drug immediately is never a good idea... you need to slowly reduce your dose over a period of weeks or even months. It's simply shocked your body and it's working on trying to achieve normality without the drug. I don't know if it's too late to go back to your dose and slowly reduce.

Talk to your doctor about one of two options. The first would be prescribing a couple benzos (ativan, xanax, klonopin) to help keep anxiety down in this transition period. You may also need to start a new antidepressant.

i honestly thought that stopping it would be ok and i was fine with it because it made me feel like shit anyway... but now i feel worse.. should i take the rest that i have? or like just half of one? idk what to do...

im back at my worst and i did it to myself. i just took my medicine and hopefully it helps. i hate this feeling. havent felt it in 4 months. ughhhh

Talk to your doc and say you need to slowly wean off it. Reduce your dose by 25% for a few weeks, then 25% more, etc.

yeah i talked to her and she wants me to take half of 20 mgs a day till they are gone. hope it works
