CBT techniques, postive thinking to replace the negative thoughts triggering the panic. Things such as "this is normal", "I am not dying", "I am calm" etc. This sounds stupid but it can help. Also breathing techniques, breathing two seconds in four seconds out. and Tension and release relaxation techniques. Tensing each of the muscles in turn from the bottom of your body to the top holding the tension for a few seconds the release. Do this in turn to each of the major muscle groups.
Most of these work by both affecting the physical dynamics of a panic attack, while at the same time distracting the mind.
