Ok, so I started zoloft today, and I'm exhausted. I'm hungry, but I can't eat. I'm so sick to my stomach... I feel heavy, my arms and legs and I feel like I'm in a fog... is this normal or should I call my dr?

It's really common to get all manner of side effects when starting medication. These can last for up to several weeks but they will get better with time. If you are really freaking out then def call your doc for some reasurrance. Also when folk start meds they are feeling rubbish anyway and the meds just seem to make it worse but this is temporary.

This is a temporary side effect, you have to understand that these meds are changing the way that your brain processes work, so things will be off for a little while. When I started zoloft I has several different side effects, mostly I got horrible anxiety almost to the point of feeling paranoid but it passes in about a week and all was well, same thing with the new med I'm on, generally about a week and you're good, just bear with it, you will make it through and you will be glad you did!

Today I had the worse panic attack I've had. I had to send my daughter to my sister in law's house, wake my husband up (he had taken sleeping pills since he works 3rd shift) and beg him to take me to the ER. I didn't know what else to do. After a while of talking to him, I realized I didn't need to go to the hospital. But after reading your reply Chiliphil1 I wonder if I'm not having increased anxiety from starting zoloft too.

I've done nothing but sleep on and off today, but I managed to wash one load of laundry and prepare a pretty simple dinner for my family, but I had to keep taking breaks because I was so SHAKY and I still am.

Hi, I'm Leah and I'm 20 and I got the EXACT same symptoms from Zoloft the first 2 days. All food sounded disgusting and I couldn't eat anything because I felt like puking. Also my arms and legs felt heavy but at the same time like I could feel all my bliss running through my veins really fast like adrenaline. Both symptoms went away after the third day and everything was normal. I had a panic attack the 3rd day in and took Atavan and felt better. We're you prescribed anything else that would enable you to calm down? Maybe talk therapy would help too?

I was also given lorazepam to take when I am having panic, but yesterday it never seemed to kick in. I feel so loopy. It's my third day on the zoloft and I just feel off. I feel heavy... and hot flashes.... I feel like I can't cool off! So thirsty too. D:

I just want to feel normal again!
