View Full Version : Guilt - Self Esteem and Anxiety

One of my best friends is also an anxiety sufferer and hers is really bad. I wonder about this - she shoplifts small things and says she does it when her anxiety is really bad and it distracts her.
Like many of us she grew up in a home that made her feel less than valuable and now I suspect her behavior is making her feel worse about herself - but she denies it is and says all she feels is a lift when she does it.
Anyone else have any experience with guilt and anxiety.
thanks

I think your friend will need to find other things to distract her besides shoplifting because if she gets caught which she probably will, I'm sure her anxiety will only get worse and hoe would she distract herself in jail? There are plenty of other things to take your mind off anxiety, see a therapist. There is absolutely no excuse for breaking the law.

I'd say it's other way around... it's not about the "friend", it is actually about the poster - and the reason they're using a "friend" is because the
post involves crime, LOL
Naughty naughty!
(Let's hope there's no police on here eh?) ;-)
