Helloo. I'm new here (as you can probably tell)

I'm 16 year olds and I've had anxiety on and off for about 3 to 4 year now although its been a lot worse since last summer. The reason for it is actually put under a few things (and we still dont know what) It could be from the time I had food poisoning abroad or from my severe nut allergy.

I usually feel sick/hyperventilate (and get that lump in the throat feeling) in situations involving going out, eating at restaurants, going to school (espically during assemblies, although oddly enough I dont mind crowds), going somewhere new, thinking about sick and things like that. I've been going to therapy for a few weeks now.

I've never really talked to anyone about my problems but recently (and after several breakdowns) My close friends now know how bad it can be. I'm not one to really talk about my problems nor show any signs I'm feeling panicked or nervous or sad even! Thats why I find therapy so hard lol. I do try my hardest to get out there. I ususally go down town every saturday with my friends and even been on a residential 3 weeks ago (which granted I felt quite panicky alot during it but still I had fun)

Well a little about me: I'm quite open-minded, very individual, enjoy good intellectual conversations but also rather silly ones :P I like being childish but I can be serious from time to time (odd I know lol) I like to have fun and make movies (with aspirations to become a film director one day) I like to take on new things and Im up for a challenge. Veeery stubborn and can be quite annoying some times lol. I love to read and write and of course watch movies.

I'm currently looking at alternative methods for helping my anxiety problem so any advice on what worked for you, or any methods you've heard of or anything really will be great.

Thank you

Hey, welcome to the forums!

It's good that you try to get out even when you're facing anxiety.

There are forms of alternative therapy out there. I dunno, you may be interested in trying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?? If you're seeing a therapist, they may get into that.

You want to be a director someday, huh? That's cool, I want to write film soundtracks. Maybe our careers will cross paths someday!!!.

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you'll be able to talk here in a way you couldn't in therapy. Any questions we are here.

You are not alone.
