Hi,

It's been awhile since a posted on this site, I have managed to keep my Anxiety away for about 5 months. But a few days ago i had the most bad panic attack i have ever had out of the blue, i thought i was going to die. Now everyday i'm worried about my heart is it beating properly, it skips about 3 beats a minute on and off through out the day. my neck and shoulders ache. I spoke to my Doctor her advice was snap out of it and talk to yourself. I know i don't have any cardio problems as i spoke to a Heart specialist last year and i had loads of tests that came back all normal. but did say i have Weight related hypertension (i have no idea what it is). He took me off my Anxiety meds and i'm not aloud back on them. So i'm not sure if it Axiety or is it Heart, like can the results change in a year?

Thanks very much

Stuart

That just means they think you need to lose a bit of weight. There's nothing dangerous about it. These attacks feel horrible but arnt dangerous. The best thing you could do when you get one is do five mins of deep slow breathing and see how you feel after that. Also regular gentle exercise like waking or cycling would be a great thing to build into your routine as it would help with both the anxiety and losing weight.

Hiya, weight related hypertension means that you have high blood pressure which will return to normal if you lose weight. Although anxiety can also cause high blood pressure. Also the heavier you are then there will be a greater strain on the heart as it has to work harder. If I was you I'd try and see a different doctor. Your doc should not have been so dismissive and should have explained everything to you. If your BP was dangerously high then they would want to see you regularly to check it and would have discussed medication with you to lower it so I don't think you need to be overly concerned about it. Healthy eating and exercise can really help with anxiety and of course weight loss so it would be a great idea to give it a go.

wow 12 kilos (if my maths is correct) since january is a huge improvement and i am genuinely inspired by this well done!!!

i only hope that you have achieved this through regular exercise and propper diet, if so the best advice i can give is just keep that shit up! with this kind of motivation you need to lose 12k so far, i trust you will have no problems in beating panic attacks in the future.

Keep us posted and lets kick some ass!
