Lorazepam?

Hello again. To make my post short this time; Im on my 3rd week of Celexa mg20 given to me for my GAD.
Ive been countering the initial side effects w Xanax (around 1.5mg) daily and it works great but I dont want to risk being dependent on on it.
Would switching to Lorazepam 1mg be a better route until the Celexa kicks in?

Yes. The longer acting ativan should help avoid any interdose dose and even rebound anxiety. Xanax is more for panic compared to longer acters(valium, klonopin) for GAD. It is still a good med though. Alankay

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe smaller doses of benzos can be used for some time before dependence is an issue, especially when an SSRI is in play. I used ativan almost daily for about a month and a half and started taking days off when my SSRI kicked in, and had zero issues with any withdrawal. Weeks, or even a month or two should be fine. It's when you start upping your dose and going on for months that addiction becomes an issue.
