ativan or paxil??

Which one is harder to come off of if you take ativan everyday...although its an as needed medication some people take it everyday! I am currently taking paxil..working my way up to 20 mg..on my fourth night of 10mg..I've taken it about ten years ago..so I'm hoping it'll work for me again...I've been suffering from panic attacks for about a year now (again)..I just want to feel better. I'm not worrying about the withdrawl at this point because I just want and need to feel better.

Ativan is harder and has longer lasting withdrawal side effects. It's not to be used as a daily med.

At a lower dose, say 20mg, paxil should be easy to taper off of. Ativan might be harder if taken daily for a while psychologically especially of a higher dose is taken but I'd say since ativan works so quickly and usually effectivey, you might miss it more and so might be harder to stop but if you taper off, should be no too bad. I used it for 3 year "as needed" before going to a longer acting benzo(now valium) since my anxiety was/is pretty well controlled. Going to 20mgs of paxil should help you use less ativan. Alankay.
