I'm glad you asked this question, as I've been reading a lot about this and am interested in whether it works for people or not. If you read up on it, though, you have to take large amounts of it for anxiety - I think I read it's around 12-18 grams per day. That's my only problem with it - seems like a LOT.

bobbie, check out the information in this wiki entry. No longer considered a b vitamin. it is a carbohydrate. Large doses are needed for anxiety relief according to studies.

I have read a lot of good things about this but haven't tried it. I have thought about taking this to supplement my other meds. Does anyone know if this is safe to do?

As with any supplements you you'd check with your doctor first.

You do not have to take large doses as said in inositol clinical trials
I started with 700mg per day it seems to work fine
Everybody is different so you have to find right dose for it
Also about the brands only solaray brand work for me
For some inositol makes them little tired for some it works fine

Always check with your physician if you take any medicine
As far as I know it's safe to take
bipolar people should be careful because it may cause mania in them
Always always check with doctor if you are on prescription med
I do no take any prescriptions

brands to check out jarrow source naturals solaray
Whatever brand works stick it

I use websites to buy supplements at cheaper price

Here is the list

Iherb.com
Vitacost.com
Amazon.com
Pureformulas.com (free shipping on all order)
Luckyvitsmins.com
Vitamineshoppe.com
